    • Project Manger/Analyst
      • Sep 2019 - Sep 2020

At CDRG I communicated with housing developers and local city officials for the Affordable Housing and Sustainable Communities (AHSC) grant. For AHSC, I organized 100+ different documents related to clients’ organizational documents, transit service documentation, site control documents, land use approvals, and more. I researched climate adaptation, air pollution mitigation, and transit access in client’s project areas and helped refine the written portions of the grant application. I also developed a guideline to the key qualitative and quantitative characteristics of a winning narrative by conducting an in-depth review of narratives submitted the previous AHSC round. I also was the project manager for 8 of our clients for HCD’s Transit Oriented Development Program and the Multifamily Housing Program, managing our clients’ applications from onboarding to submission. I was the main point of contact for questions on the application, meaning I had to fully understand the relevant NOFA and guidelines. I finalized the list of required documents for each project in accordance with the guidelines, based on specific project details. I coordinated and led our weekly checklist review meetings to ensure open communication and understanding of the necessary materials. Other duties included working on projects that promote diversity and equity at the company, like improving our community engagement onboarding package and building out our diversity hiring initiative for our student position. • Jan 2017 - May 2020

As head research assistant of the Behavioral and Experimental Economics (BEE) Lab, I oversaw the data collection and entry process of our various field experiments, including projects on neighborhood health and healthy eating choices. For our neighborhood health project, I traveled to a public housing community in South Los Angeles and conducted hour long interviews with families to better understand their perceptions of their neighborhood and housing, and their nutrition and health. Interviews were in Spanish and English. For our healthy eating choices project, I managed a team of 4 to 5 research assistants for our data collection efforts at grocery stores throughout Los Angeles, which included training. I coordinated schedules and helped prepare necessary materials for such field days, which included translating documents, like scripts, instructions, and guides from English to Spanish. Research assistants and I actively recruited English and Spanish speaking participants at these participating stores, which include asking participants to choose foods and complete surveys. I created and maintained tracking sheets to collect this data, and developed instructional guides on how to enter data to ensure consistency. Utilizing data from the lab, I participated in the Undergraduate Research Symposium. My partner and I looked into what factors help fundraising professionals better predict the results of thank-you calls to donors. Show less

    • USC Price Public-Private Partnership Fellow
      • Jun 2019 - Jul 2019

I was one of 10 inaugural fellows for the Price Public Private Partnership (P3) fellowship. At the CA Complete Count, I created certification guidelines, outlined core components, and developed an application for the Census Champion Program for The Community Foundation in the Inland Empire (IE). The language from my report was the basis for the Census Champion section of the Census IE website and the core components I developed helped determine what were qualified trainings in the region. To develop these guidelines, I coordinated with the project manager of the lead community-based organization of the region and presented it to part of the Inland Empire Complete Count Committee for final comments and questions. I accompanied Regional Program Managers to local meetings with sub-committees and local government officials to better understand their Hard-to-Count (HTC) populations and concerns. I also accompanied RPMs on public outreach events to assist with outreach, providing Spanish translation as needed. Furthermore, I assisted Regional Program Managers in executing Implementation Plan Workshops in the Inland Empire by preparing materials and providing same day staffing support. Additionally, I provided feedback on Strategic Plans for outreach submitted by Counties, Community Based Organizations, and Statewide organizations. The Strategic Plans outlined outreach strategies to reach the hard to count populations for the census. My feedback helped guide RPMs’ follow up questions and requests for further information. • Co-Chair
      • Aug 2018 - May 2019

Hermanas Unidas de USC (HaU) is an organization on campus that aims to provide support to Latinx women on campus. In addition to having weekly general body meetings, we have monthly events centered on each of our three pillars -- Community Service, Academic, and Social. For the 2018-2019 school year, I was Co-chair (co-president) for HaU. In this role, I provided direction and guidance on event programming as well as facilitated General Body and our 14 person Steering Committee meetings. Increasing membership was a large focus for the school year, and we were able to meet our goal. We almost doubled our membership. As Secretary during the 2017-2018 school year, I kept the executive board updated and general body updated through newsletters. As Campus Liaison during the 2016-2017 school year, I served as the liaison between HaU, USC, and the surrounding community. Show less

As a district office intern at Council President Herb Wesson’s office, I regularly helped resolve constituents' issues, whether it was by directing them to the correct city department or helping them get the process started for larger projects before briefing their appropriate deputy. I created a report with two other fellows that analyzed the relationship between economic mobility and workforce equity, self-employment, and displacement in LA. Additionally, we finalized a report based on LURN's Planning and Land-Use Strategies Summit (PLUS2). We each provided a detailed background on the issues presented by the guest speakers and a clear explanation of the recommendations as well.
