I worked part time at Waitrose whilst studying for my A-levels and through my university life. I began working on the tills and progressed over time to solely running the checkouts for periods during the day. These responsibilities taught me invaluable skills such as time keeping, planning as well as working calmly under pressure. During a 12month placement at GSK I gained experience in pre-clinical imaging working with rats and mice. I completed the Home Office Modules 1-4 and gained a personal licence and was deemed competent in a number of procedures. I have gained an understanding of the key principles behind PET- CT and used the knowledge in the laboratory environment to complete two projects and present the work at various functions over the year.
