I have worked in both Charlottesville, Va. and near Las Cruces for this company and been involved in product generation utilizing fusing of GIS, remotely sensed imagery, and shapefile data sets for company customers, developed new concepts for using existing data sets to tackle hard problems. Additionally, over the course of my time with this company, I have been given the roles of SME, task lead, and primary POC for some of the areas in which we deal, been involved in regression testing and technical investigations. One of my favorite projects that I have worked was a side project that involved trying using remotely sensed data for precision agriculture and installing an in situ ground sensor as part of the data set.

I had the opportunity to assist a Doctorial candidate with her efforts to document Paleo-Ocean Climates across the Holocene. Work involved the processing of ocean core samples to sift for specific foramanifera species who's chemistry would allow for the extraction of ocean temperature conditions during their life span. A seasonal position at Denali National Park, Alaska that I was able to take before going back to school to finish my degree. We constructed trails through the park using both hand and automatic tools such as pulaskis, plate compactors, chainsaws, and bobcats. We performed environmental mitigation in sensitive areas or when decommissioning old trails. During this season I also assisted with the scouring of the Kantishna Hills backcountry area during the Richard Hasbell search and rescue.Since we were in the public eye constantly, part of our job also included public outreach related to trails and backcountry topics.
