I am the Visual Merchandiser for Perspicasity. Perspicasity is a very unique women’s clothing boutique set up beachside in the town of Seaside Florida. It is an open air concept store that is a very nostalgic piece of history on 30A. Employees are held to the highest standards in our performance and execution of visual display. Our product is very carefully selected by the buyer and beautiful displays are created based on color stories. The dynamics of the store are constantly changing and evolving based on seasonal business, regular events, and ever changing product lines. This requires a constant ability to create visually appealing displays on a day to day basis. Our store has received acknowledgment for our concept and style in well known publications, such as Southern Living and Coastal Living. Show less

I was hired on as a sales lead at Gymboree and then immediately promoted to Store Manager. When I arrived at the store it was struggling both operationally and service wise. The stock room was stacked to the ceiling with boxed product and the back-stocked inventory was impossible to access. The sales and service scores were down. After taking over the store I managed to get the stockroom to 100% optimization. The sales went up 8% to our Annual Sales Plan and up 13% to the previous year’s sales. This particular store, located in Cumming Georgia, did not conform to the company's typical floor map directives which gave me a unique opportunity to pair up with the visual design team and design my own floor moves. This is where I developed my love for visual merchandising. After being in my position as manager for 6 months I was transferred and moved up the ladder to a higher volume store in Sandestin. I was employed by Mohawk Valley Community Action Agency in upstate New York. I graduated with both Psychology and Human Services degrees in the summer of 2010 and was hired by MVCAA as a Family Specialist in the Family Resources program. I acted as a caseworker and advocate for families who were at risk of losing their children to the foster care system or who were working to have their children returned from the foster care system. My duties were to make weekly home visits and complete case notes for each of my cases. I had to keep organized and accurate case files for each of my cases. I provided community resources to all of my families to help them improve their lives. I taught Common Sense Parenting and Nurturing Parenting curriculum to my families. I was responsible for maintaining contact with DSS caseworkers as well as any other workers on my cases to give progress updates and share information as needed. I was also a mandated reporter of child abuse for my job. Show less

    • Store Manager/Buyer/Interior Designer
      • Jun 1996 - May 2005

I managed a successful family owned specialty retail store for several years that sold antiques, interiors, and design services to a large region in South Georgia. I was responsible for putting together and planning estate sales. I also held events such as wine tastings and art gallery showings which had an amazing draw in the community. I demanded the highest quality of customer service from all employees and tried to lead by example. I was responsible for marketing and advertising as well as meeting clients for private sales and consulting sessions. We became a very well respected and trusted business in the community. This was a position that I maintained even through my relocation to Savannah. I acted as a buyer and I returned to the business locally bi-monthly to run our estate sales and do marketing for our events. Show less
