Directed all organizational elements of Variety the Children’s Charity of New York—a 68 year old grantmaking foundation focused on transforming the lives of children through the arts—including the management of the staff team, the execution of all grantmaking strategies and program design, the creation of marketing materials and campaigns, the oversight of all internal systems and the implementation of a robust fund development plan to cultivate individual, corporate and foundation gifts. Major accomplishments include: Increased organizational impact by 150% by expanding the grantee portfolio from 13 to 30 grassroots organizations and the youth supported from 8,000 to 20,900 Grew cash revenue by 68% from 2011 to 2015. Increased net revenue for the organization’s signature fundraising event by over 200%. Developed innovative collateral for a public solicitation campaign leading to a 32% increase in revenue. Created philanthropic model to increase the capacity of over 50 grassroots grantees helping each one attain impressive outcomes in program impact, revenue generation, operational efficiencies and leadership development. Enhanced visibility of the organization through strategic partnerships with peer foundations and affinity groups. As a result, applications for funding increased by over 400%. Expanded Variety New York’s role as a thought leader in the local philanthropic field by producing over a dozen publications redefining the role of funder in relation to grassroots grantees.

Designed and implemented the New Look Foundation’s strategic plan by managing a team of seven across four cities to ensure all programs, partnerships, evaluation metrics as well as funding and growth opportunities were aligned to the core vision of supporting young people as global leaders. Major accomplishments include: Executed a fund development strategy to raise $1.5 million from individuals, corporations, foundations and government agencies including the Foundation’s first government and private foundation grants. Authored youth development and financial literacy curriculum distributed by America’s Promise Alliance to thousands of middle schools across the country. Organized, facilitated and designed the trainings conducted at a dozen national conferences for hundreds of youth and adults to learn best practices for youth engagement. Implemented a media outreach strategy securing over 100 print and broadcast stories. Awarded three substantial promotions in fewer than four years as a result of consistent high performance and leadership.
