Will Mac
Jess is one of the best scrum masters I have ever worked with. Calm, confident, and empathetic, she wonderfully balanced the roles of QA as well as SM in a way that maintained an excellent relationship with the developers on the team. She fully understands the mentality and purpose behind agile ways of working which allows her to flex the frameworks to get people onside, and shows the benefit by doing and leading from the front. She's one of the few QAs I know who has successfully mentored developers in how to best programmatically test code, and break down the mental divide between "developers" and "testers".

I am part of the Capture team at Silverlink Software, involved in the stability and progression of the capture healthcare software. As a Quality Assurance Analyst, it is mine and my colleges responsibility to thoroughly test the quality of the software product, before it is released to our clients. This includes regression testing, static testing, destructive testing etc. Reporting defects in the system to the development team and making sure that they system meets the requirements of our users. It is important that a high standard is maintained with the capture software, as our products are used in 10 NHS trusts throughout England. Show less

Student Ambassador
-
Oct 2012 - Jun 2014
My role as a Student Ambassador for the University of Sunderland has gave me experience in many different areas. From taking groups of potential students on tours of the campus, answering questions from concerned parents and sharing my University experiences with others has really increased my confidence with interacting with people on a personal level. By participating in student panels, this has made me deal with situations when unknown questions shall be asked and how I respond to them in the best manner I can, even if I cannot answer the question effectively. By taking part in the opportunity to ring potential students to offer them more information, helped me with the way I presented myself over the telephone, this greatly improved my telephone skills, in professionalism And all of the light hearted opportunities, such as helping the marketing team at concerts all accounted to helping me grow as a person and develop people skills.
