LIFE Services Program Manager
-
Oct 2005 - Apr 2020
I am a manager in the LIFE Services department overseeing daily operations in both the City LIFE and Senior LIFE program areas. These programs serve adults and seniors with varying cognitive, intellectual, and developmental disabilities offering leisure and recreational opportunities, daily living skill building, community inclusion, health and wellness, and socialization. I absolutely love working with this population and enjoy the adventure and unpredictability of every day. I also provide direct supervision to a team of Activity Assistants/CNAs and Program Techs ~ approximately 13 individuals. In addition to these responsibilities, starting in January 2015 I took on coordinating a Dementia Diagnostic Clinic. I work closely with a Geriatrician and Neuropsychologist in an effort to diagnose, treat, and offer resources for individuals with various forms of mild cognitive impairment, dementia, and Alzheimer's Disease. This has been extremely interesting and gratifying to be a part of. I feel very lucky and blessed to work for an agency where I have the opportunity to help and assist in the lives and well being of those I encounter on a daily basis. Show less

Intern
-
Jun 2012 - Jun 2013
I completed my practicum experience at Family Options Counseling, working as an intern providing individual counseling to children, teens, and adults. I was able to help facilitate group counseling sessions and also had the opportunity to provide couples counseling. I enjoyed this internship immensely and learned a great deal from the team of therapists and psychologists as well as the clients I was lucky enough to work with during this time.
