Bio
Aleksandar Gujas
I worked with Jess as a web developer during her time as Marketing Manager at Campstay and also, interim Manager at Campstay. From our time working together I was impressed by her intelligence, integrity, motivation and energy. Jess distinguishes herself in taking ownership of all aspects of her position - she is always the first to consider ways in which she personally can add value to a shared mission, and also how the group as a whole can improve on the product we deliver. The results in my view were that we were able to navigate Campstay through a challenging period with a smoothness that would not have been possible with someone less agentic in the role. With our usual manager temporarily absent Jess did an admiral job of ensuring we were not burdened with a lack of leadership. If you ever find yourself considering Jess as a candidate to join your business, do yourself a favour and hire her.

Jess is an exceptional leader in her industry and is an outstanding advocate for charitable organisations and social causes. I was fortunate enough to cross paths with Jess during my tenure at Bauer Trader Media. I was QLD Sales Manager; managing the travel and outdoor portfolio for the publisher. Jess was my client and purchased magazine ad space in Caravan World magazine and Motorhome and Caravan Trader magazine to help raise the profile of brands Winnebago Australia and Adria. In the years that I have known Jess, I have found her to be a class-act in everything she puts her hand to; especially, when it came to creating and implementing marketing campaigns that drove brand awareness and engagement and more importantly, drove business objectives. Jess has tremendous energy and is always enthusiastic; continuously seeking new and innovative ways to promote the brands she is charged with creating a buzz about. I truly feel she has been instrumental in helping grow the Winnebago and Adria brands to where they are today. Away from her professional role, Jess is a community warrior; passionate about making a difference by supporting causes that bring about positive change in our community. She has supported the Sudsy Challenge; a Blue Sky initiative aimed at raising awareness and offering services of comfort to homeless people doing it tough on our streets. She has also supported the Act for Peace Ration Challenge; an initiative that raises awareness about Refugee crisis and raises funds to help feed refugees around the world. In 2019, the organisation raised $2,144,47...enough to provide food for 7,826 refugees for a whole year! Jess is as genuine as they come. Thoughtful, encouraging, and inspiring. I feel truly blessed to have crossed paths with her and to continue to call her a friend. I am confident in recommending Jess for any role or project no and in the future and believe she will be an unprecedented valuable asset to any business, organisation or initiative. I began volunteering on shower shifts for Orange Sky in 2019. Connecting with friends and volunteers quickly became the most meaningful time of my fortnight. Privately, I would write a lot of reflections about these moments - the people I met, the stories we shared. Now, I am fortunate to take my understanding and passion for Orange Sky and write public stories and content to increase social impact.I support the initiatives of the incredible marketing team through blog writing, social media and various other mediums of storytelling. Orange Sky is a crucial humanity-focused charity, that supports vulnerable Aussies. My work is diverse in its content, audience and sensitivities. This includes writing informative or appealing content to various stakeholders - friends, volunteers, donors and supporters - whilst maintaining the unique Orange Sky 'voice' and handling themes with kindness and a supportive manner.

Remote Services
-
Apr 2021 - Jul 2021
I was fortunate to travel to 25 remote communities in central and northern Australia with Orange Sky. I was responsible for developing respectful and meaningful stories/content, supporting the Program Manager's administrative needs, and connecting with service providers and residents in each community. This was an amazing and dynamic experience that required proficient navigation skills of complex interpersonal, cultural, logistical and social scenarios. Orange Sky is the world's first mobile laundry, shower and connection service for people experiencing homelessness or doing it tough. Access to laundry is extraordinarily difficult and Orange Sky is committed to connecting with remote communities to learn how they can support their laundry and connection needs.
