I helped clients develop microfluidic cartridges for use in the medical device industry. I have designed and fluidically tested injection moulded plastic cartridges. I have also gained extensive experience milling plastic cartridges and jigs on a CNC using CAM software (Fusion 360). Furthermore, I have learnt various methods for applying capping films (PSA, laser welding, plasma bonding, solvent bonding, heat staking) and surface treatments (hydrophilic coatings, solvent polishing). Lastly, I have planned budgets and timelines for Stage 1 activities.

I helped design medical instrumentation for diagnostic and cell therapy applications. In 2020, my team won a Gold Good Design Award for the design and development of Invetech's 3rd Generation Closed Filling System. I led a team of engineers where we designed jigs and fixtures for the assembly of an alpha prototype of a medical device. I gained a broad range of skills in designing, testing and writing reports for various mechanical and electromechanical systems. During my time at Invetech, I was lucky enough to see one of the projects I worked on go from the prototyping stage, through to verification and validation testing, and then shipped to the client for use in a cell therapy application.
