As a requirement for graduating my program, I had to complete a seven week field placement at a media outlet of my choice. I chose the Northumberland Today newspaper to get an idea of what it's like to work at a small newspaper and work with a very close and tight staff. I quickly proved myself to them. I covered numerous stories and took several photographs which ran in their paper. I conducted several interviews for stories, re-wrote press releases for publication and transcribed audio for stories. Show less

We also did all the pagination for the paper before it was sent off to be printed.
