Being proactive in researching the Marketing industry, I secured paid work experience with Ten Stories High. This gave me the opportunity to expand my knowledge and refine my marketing skills. It has also enabled me to familiarise myself with SEO and common marketing softwares; Mailchimp and Canva. I worked closely with the Co-directors to turn around briefs for clients. My responsibilities included working on social media briefs for a Cumbrian charity (Cumbria Youth Alliance) and on email campaigns for a local business. Show less

In a customer-facing role, I had the responsibility to resolve complaints and up-sell products, along with being trusted to handle money and manage stock. This role required me to use clear communication skills and have proficient mathematical skills to think on the spot and problem solve. I am multi-skilled and was trained in three areas; Café, Food counters, and Bakery. I was recognised for my hard work and team working skills by a manager and by another colleague and received 'Love it points'. Show less

Using my initiative, I secured a competitive virtual work experience placement after Covid-19 cancelled my placement with college. This involved cold emailing healthcare professionals and submitting a lengthy application as to why I should be selected. I participated in group speaking and shared ideas to solve problems. I used time management skills to complete activities such as designing informative and eye-catching posters highlighting important topics such as mental health, Covid-19 and promoting nutrition for breastfeeding mothers. I received certificates for the completion of these tasks. Show less

This has developed my ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment, meet deadlines and enhanced my skills to adapt and show flexibility. I used teamwork skills to provide an excellent service and even achieved ‘star of the shift’ on multiple occasions.
