I have worked with Jesica for over a year as a fellow career coach at Evergreen Valley College in San Jose. Jessica brought value to our team with her executive leadership experience as well as her expertise in diversity & equity to support first-generation college students at various stages in their lives from different cultures. You don’t often find certified coaches from immigrant backgrounds who understand how cultural messages and implicit bias can impact people’s careers. Jessica is popular among ESL students and students from the Southeast Asian communities at Evergreen Valley College Throughout the year, Jessica held many culturally sensitive career workshops that helped students prepare for 21st century careers such as salary negotiation, diversity in the workplace, effective leadership presence, networking for introverts and effective resumes. She also led two successful all-day professional development opportunities for students in STEM and for the Southeast Asian American Student Excellence (SEAASE) program. Jessica is known for developing intentional programming for her audience and looks for things to share that are needed in the communities. She is also mindful of creating trainings that will be valueble and engaging for diverse audiences. With her ties in the Asian and Pacific Islander community, Jessica also helped many EVC students from the Vietnamese community in San Jose with job opportunities that allowed them use their Vietnamese-language skills, especially students who recently immigrated to the United States. Jessica is very talented as a coach, community organizer and community leader. I have seen the impact she makes for different organizations.

It is with great pleasure that I provide Jessica Ayden Li, my personal recommendation. I currently work with Jessica as a Career Coach at Evergreen Valley College for approximately 9 months. I find her to be very proactive when coaching students in several areas of the services we are to provide. We are charged with conducting Career Workshops, Resume Development, Mock Interviews, and Career Explorations discussions. Jessica came to our team with a breadth of experience in these areas. Jessica is a very insightful, creative and thought-provoking person. Her social activist leadership has been of value to our team and department. I feel very fortunate to be her teammate. Jessica offers a thoughtful and special way of working with students. and is always available to go the extra distance. She projects confidence, concern, and encouragement to the job as a teammate. She has certainly brought additional value to my success as a Career Coach.
