Jess Garrison was easily one of the most pivotal people in my development into a successful leader in the business world. During my tenure under his leadership I was a young and often impetuous Manager. Instead of interpreting my energy and desire to succeed in a negative way, Jess instead helped to mold my thinking in matters of personnel and financial management in impactful ways that I still draw on daily in my personal and professional life. Although he was always very busy in his role with the organization I was never led to feel like I was an inconvenience or distraction to him. To the contrary, Jess set time aside from his schedule to mentor me one on one and help me develop into the successful manager he knew I could become. I can honestly say I would not be where I am today and would not have enjoyed many of the successes I have been blessed to have if it were not for his guidance at a critical time in my career. When it came time for me to be promoted to the next level, Jess encouraged me and did not stand in the way of me moving on to a new challenge even though it resulted in leaving him without the top performer in his District at the time. I know he had a meaningful impact both in my career and in the career of countless others and I can only hope I have had the same role in the development of those that have worked with me as a leader through the years. It goes without saying that Jess has an unparalleled understanding of financials and business operations that is quite uncommon in workplace today. Jess will continue to be an asset to any organization he works with in the future and I genuinely hope our paths cross again at some time and we have the good fortune to team up again.
