  Berks County, Pennsylvania, United States After leaving Tinkergarten as a Leader, I struck out on my own leading outdoor educational classes building my own lesson plans. Classes are held year round in public outdoor classes with approximately 15-20 kids ranging from 18 months to 12 years. Through trial and error and learning curves I have developed lesson plans that reach children at a wide range of abilities and interests. Our lessons primarily focus on natural sciences. On any given week we may be learning about tardigrades, weather patterns, the Coriolis Effect or searching and identifying aquatic macroinvertebrates! I have taken courses to deepen my understanding of Early Childhood Education as well as trainings to enhance my outdoor teaching skills such as “Growing Up WILD: Exploring Nature with Young Children.” Growing Up Wild is an early childhood environmental education program offered in PA by the Department of Conservation and Natural Resources of PA. I uphold a fishing and scientific specimen catch and release permit to safely and responsibly investigate watershed life. Show less
