Currently I work as an Organising Administrator ensuring my team of organisers has everything they needed in order to do their job and get the best outcome for our members. My team is local as well as National organisers and I am responsible for the Administration requirements of some of our biggest employers. I manage direct relations with delegates as well as colleagues. My day-to-day role is incredibly broad, it can be as simple as data entry right through to organising large events including massive national or local strikes and the logistics that involves, working on Collective agreements including formatting, communicating with the members and ratifying the agreements. I also often work in a policy capacity comparing clauses out of various collective agreements and giving employment advice to our members. In my role, I am sole charge and manage my work independently. This role you really are the glue that holds everything together, you must be active and aware of everything that is going on within all of your organisations but ultimately you must be a skilled communicator. I looked after the administrative needs of 2 teams (Environment Monitoring and Environment Regulation) which sat on average over 35 staff including 2 Managers and 7 team leaders. My role was very varied, it was a reactive role for the most part and my duties involved diary management, recruitment, travel bookings, database entry, fleet management, asset purchasing ($75,000 financial delegation), catering, arranging meetings/conference/special interest groups and basically anything else that can or did get thrown at me. I also helped design and implement a new uniform which required patience and diplomacy. I enjoyed this role for its dynamism and opportunity for me to shine. I only left because I was ready to move on to bigger challenges at the PSA. Show less

Equus is a New Zealand owned Waterproofing membrane company originating from Blenheim. My role within Equus was to ensure the administrative needs of the “Central Branch” (bottom half of the north island) were taken care of. Over my time at Equus the other administration staff were leaving so I picked up their work, providing administrative support to the other 3 branches throughout NZ and the head office. My tasks included assisting with marketing material, travel arrangements, diary management, preparing financial statements, reception duties and database management. Show less

SevenAway TrustAide, now known as Marram Trust (previously known as the Post Office Welfare Trust) was my first Administration job and really a great introduction to the workplace. I started as an office junior type role (Contributor Enquires), sorting the mail and doing basic administrative tasks and eventually worked my way up to becoming a Marketing Administrator where I maintained the relationship between SevenAway and New Zealand Post.
