I led onsite and offshore teams in the development and enhancement of applications maintaining the registration requirements for financial advisors, as well as tracking of branch locations in the wealth management network. Was the lead for semi-annual updates necessary to maintain system and regulatory compatibility between registration and WebEFT, the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority (FINRA) electronic file transfer application. • Led the development and implementation of a state registration renewals application. This replaced a manual spreadsheet based renewals process with a GUI based facility. It enabled financial advisors to select and cancel the state registrations they would need for the upcoming year, saving the advisors and the firm nearly a million dollars annually in registration expenses. • Developed and maintained a blue sky registration checking facility for trading and back end applications. This performs and logs hundreds of millions of registration checks monthly, and is available to web based, online, and batch applications via web service and callable API. The development of this function has eliminated blue sky violations in all applications that subscribe to it, and has saved millions of dollars since its implementation. • Developed and maintained the interface to the FINRA electronic file transfer service. This greatly reduced the manual processing performed in the registration department as form filings, registration updates, and reporting functions now take place electronically. • Performed the registration component of the private wealth management conversion for the Smith Barney acquisition in which the high wealth advisors from Smith Barney were integrated into the wealth management platform. This has allowed the new group of advisors to trade on the Morgan Stanley platform. Show less
