  The Product Development Engineer (PDE) is responsible for assisting the engineering lead or manager on the design of the product. The PDE is responsible for specific aspects of the engineering design of the product. The PDE takes direction from the engineering lead or manager in the technical development of the design engineering function, ensuring that the product meets the design goals including product cost, product function, and test reliability. The PDE assists in the creation of engineering specifications for products that respond to market wants and needs that are capable of being produced reliably. The PDE assists the engineering lead or manager in ensuring that thorough product specs are established and validates that the product is capable of meeting those specifications. The PDE helps the engineering lead or manager establish the quality requirements of the supply chain, establishing the quality process from the supplier to our customers. The PDE assists the engineering lead or manager and the procurement lead in ensuring that the supply base understands part, tooling, timing, and capital requirements throughout the quoting, supplier selection, tooling implementation, and production launch process.
