Behavior Tech - Paraeducator

I have worked in Special Education at Urbandale High School since 2010. My most recent position (6 years) was as the building Behavior Tech, maintaining knowledge of all behavior plans, keeping integrity checks current, making checks on plans as needed, if requested and at random times, coaching on and assisting with behavior plans when needed, and providing support, direction and assistance in the area of student behaviors. I started at Urbandale as a 1:1 associate for students in the Level 3, Level 2 and BD programs. After 4 years, I moved to a position as the Level 3 Program Associate/Medicaid Clerk, oversaw daily Medicaid paperwork, gained knowledge about and helped see behavior plans were followed, created and organized classroom materials including Project Based Learning activities and training sites. I worked under the supervision and direction of the Level 3 teachers to create data sheets, collect, organize and score data regularly on students and provided assistance as needed including creating level appropriate grocery lists, maintaining a student level cookbook, and using board maker to assist in creating iPad activities and other student assistance tools and schedules.
