Jerome has been my line manager for the past two years. He is very good at planning the team’s workload and managing each respective team members’ pipeline, balancing the demands from the business with our capacity to deliver the work. Jerome has excellent project management skills, and is really good at communicating with all different types of people as well as bringing everyone together to work towards a shared objective.

I had the pleasure of working with Jerome for the last two years at Scope, collaborating on several team projects, few people have the opportunity to report to a manager who is also someone that really cares about you. Jerome is talented Project Manager, has excellent management skills, very focused on improving business process and I’m sure he will be a valuable asset for any company.

Based in London, Christian Aid is an international non-governmental organisation which works across Africa, Asia and the Middle East, Latin America and the Caribbean in 26 countries, collaborating with local partners and communities to fight poverty and injustice, respond to humanitarian emergencies, campaign for change, and to help people claim the services and rights they are entitled to. • Set up from scratch a PMO for the technology portfolio of projects (value of £5m+) • Examples of projects ranged from rolling out enterprise systems (eg. SunSystems) in 18 country offices to developing web applications to capture the impact of Christian Aid’s programme work out in the field • Implemented a project management framework for all Project Managers to adopt, allowing for both agile and waterfall delivery, and to ensure that all of the necessary controls were in place throughout the project lifecycle including appropriate governance structures • Increased project management maturity through coaching and mentoring Project Managers, and setting up a project management community which met regularly to share best practice • Created a PMO SharePoint site to provide guidance and resources for the project management community • Implemented Project Online/Server to provide a central view of projects in the portfolio • Produced regular portfolio reports for the Digital & ICT Steering Group, which has ownership of the technology portfolio • Maintained a portfolio RAID log to track risks/issues to escalate when needed to the Steering Group, as well as to manage dependencies between projects • Used the P3M3 enhanced assessment tool to assess project management maturity and identify areas for improvement • Created external networking links with other PMOs to draw upon more best practice Show less

CITB is the Industry Training Board for the construction industry in England, Scotland and Wales. Its role is to ensure that there is an adequate supply of correctly trained and qualified people at all levels within the construction industry. I was the sole Senior Project Manager in the apprenticeships work space, the combined annual contract value of which for all three nations exceeds £40m turnover. • Successfully delivered 6 projects across the apprenticeship portfolio on a £1.4m budget, the theme of which was to digitise outdated and paper-based business processes - for example by creating new digital forms and making them available on Apprenticeship Officers’ iPads, which were then used at different points throughout apprentices’ customer journeys. This captured data at source, improved its integrity and ultimately improved the flow of contractual income from the Skills Funding Agency which was drawn down when apprentices were recruited and progressed. • Introduced time/effort efficiencies (equating to over 50 working days per year) so that apprenticeship staff could focus more on the value-add aspects of their roles, eg. relationship management with apprentices/employers as opposed to doing administration • Improved apprentices’ employability by introducing online assessment tools for functional skills (English, Maths and ICT) • Working for the Business Improvement team, I used thorough project management rigour to stabilise the project work being delivered for the Apprenticeships team, and also built a closer working relationship between these two teams which historically had been disjointed • Managed a remote project delivery team of 6 staff - a combination of a Project Manager, a Business Analyst and 4 technical SMEs. Scope is disability charity with a £99.5m annual income, seeking to make England a place where disabled people have the same opportunities as everyone else. I headed up the Project Management Office (PMO) for the IT department at Scope, and line managed 3 Project Managers and 3 Software Developers (.NET and SharePoint) • Set up a brand new PMO for the IT department and introduced a new project delivery framework, as well as developing a knowledge base and a lessons learned repository to support future learning • Recruited and built a team of six, instilling in to them best practice for project management delivery • Raised the profile of project management throughout the organisation and improved the perception of the IT department being a strategic business partner and not just a service provider • Examples of projects delivered include developing a brand new SharePoint-based intranet for the organisation to enable improved corporate messaging and to facilitate collaborative working/information sharing, implementing Dynamics 365 CRM, giving Scope’s high street shops access to network drives and improved internet connectivity, reducing/simplifying the IT estate, and migrating Microsoft Exchange from on-premise to the cloud. • Introduced the use of the Project online PPM tool to increase PMO capability. Sense is a £88.2m turnover national charity which supports deafblind children and adults in being full and active members of society. I worked with a wide range of internal stakeholders to define the scope of a new CRM database (Microsoft Dynamics), to give Sense the ability to manage enquiries/requests for services from deafblind people and their families, and for the first time have a single view of this data. I worked with Sense's technology partner to implement the new CRM database by co-ordinating the design, development, deployment and operation of this new system. • Successfully project managed the implementation of a brand new CRM system in to the organisation on a £1.5m budget, providing a single view of customer data in order to better understand their needs, form closer relationships with them and inform future business decisions • Improved 8 bloated paper-based processes in to leaner, more efficient ones through the use of technology • Managed the organisational change of moving from staff using various silos of information to them using just one system, and then reducing the cultural resistance to that change through strong communications and the provision of quality training/eLearning • Devised a training plan with clear learning outcomes for over 350 end-users of the system.
