I had the pleasure of getting to know Jermin during our User Experience Design Immersive (UXDI) bootcamp at General Assembly, Singapore. In the project that we worked on together, we researched and designed the Watsons Pharmacy+ (W+) mobile app that informs users on real-time availability of pharmacists and pharmacy-only medicines. Jermin contributed greatly to every step of delivering the outcomes of this project. During the user research phase, Jermin confidently used his language skills when he interviewed a user on-site in Mandarin Chinese, which the rest of the team wouldn’t have been able to do! In particular, I would like to highlight Jermin’s problem solving skills and expertise in prototyping in Figma because this was instrumental to the success of our project. He has an incredible eye for detail, yet is able to focus on the bigger picture when required. I was in awe when I saw Jermin’s prototyping skills in action and I was impressed by how Jermin incorporated the insights from our user research into the development of the final product (W+ app). In our final presentation to the stakeholders, Jermin engaged the audience and really brought the prototype to life. As a testament to his character, Jermin is approachable, friendly, easy going yet extremely professional to work with. He is an active listener and takes every stakeholders’ view in to account. He is inquisitive and an analytical thinker, always ready with suggesting solutions he has devised to problems. He is creative and thinks out the box but also eloquently follows systems and processes when needed. Finally, Jermin’s hard work ethic and collaboration skills contributed hugely to the team achieving their project goals. It's been a real delight working with Jermin and I truly hope I get the opportunity to work with and learn from him again in the future. I have no doubt that he will prove to be a valuable asset to his future employers, stakeholders and clients in his future endeavours.

Jermin and I were grouped together (with Alexandra Pyle) in one of the projects during our User Experience Design Immersive (UXDI) boot camp at General Assembly. We researched and designed the Watsons Pharmacy+ (W+), a mobile pharmacy app that informs users on real-time availability of pharmacists and pharmacy-only medicines. If there was one project outcome from UXDI that I’m most proud of, that would be this W+ app, and it took us a mere 2 weeks to complete because Jermin was instrumental with his rapid prototyping. If I were to map my emotional journey with Jermin, it went like this: (1) Excited > (2) Surprised > (3) Surprised > (4) Surprised > (5) Wishful: (1) Excited—because during our project’s preliminary discussions, it became clear that I was grouped with team members who clicked and could complement each other well. (2) Surprised—because he gave us inputs that made us rethink some of our research approach. (3) Surprised—at how quick, creative, and independent he was when he developed our prototype for usability testing, and was surprised again when he prototyped our final app design. (4) Surprised—at how well-spoken, well-practiced, and confident he was during our final presentation. (5) Wishful—that Jermin and I will be assigned to the same group again for our subsequent project. Working with Jermin was full of pleasant surprises—he’s clearly dedicated to UX and did his best to contribute meaningfully to our team. I recommend Jermin because I believe he will prove to be a valuable team member in any UX team.

Jermin impressed us with his clear communication, his sharpness when it came to grasping what we were looking for and his manner of approaching the problem we presented to him. More importantly, Jermin demonstrated very good design thinking skills and was an excellent team player which was crucial to making the project run smoothly. His background in tech was also great in helping us to solve the problem. Jermin would be an asset to any team given his professionalism and skills that would make him a great UX designer.
