When the Research Director role was created within HBI, Jerica and I were both elevated to the position simultaneously (in our respective areas of subject matter expertise). In the years we have worked together--often seated across from one another--I have developed an enormous respect for Jerica and the dedication, care, and intelligence she puts into every task. After achieving the title of Research Director, advanced responsibilities in coordinating and delegating tasks or long-term projects among team members. Recruited and interviewed job candidates when necessary. Coordinated one to three annual member events by recruiting speakers and developing the overall theme and content. Researched industry topics and trends and ensure materials met the custom research needs of our clients. Interviewed, collaborated with, and developed relationships with hospital executives from across the country on a daily basis. Wrote and edited various printed publications including electronic newsletters, quarterly reports, white papers, e-books, in addition to presentations and client-requested deliverables. Brainstormed new ideas for products and storyboarded topics to research and/or publish resources, reports, and/or webinars on. Copyedited and developed graphics for various publications. Assisted in the development of industry surveys as well as recruited hospital leaders to participate. Conducted skillful analysis of the industry at large, using acquired data, interviews with industry stakeholders, and a wealth of research. Held both regular and critical calls with clients. Presented on healthcare revenue cycle trends at industry events.
