Development engineering for public and private clients, including design of roadways, utilities, and stormwater management systems. Training junior engineers in design and CAD skills, and aiding with preparing proposals, contracts, schedules, and change orders. Our team has grown Midwestern Consulting's reach into Ann Arbor Public Schools and Clover Housing projects, and extending our reach with Clover to projects in Western Michigan and in Illinois. We also have worked to integrate additional Landscape Architects into the team with our projects, raising the caliber and reputation of that field to match the reputation already held by the firm in Civil Engineering and Surveying. We have worked with many Architects and MEP Engineering firms (both local small firms and out of state larger firms) to realize interdisciplinary projects including single-family subdivisions, apartment communities, commercial centers, public school improvements, and university facilities; while coordinating work with other disciplines, negotiating and obtaining permits and easements, and providing design assistance during the construction phase of projects. Projects include the new College of Pharmacy and Central Campus Recreation buildings at the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor, the UMRC senior housing Cottages in Chelsea, Clover Communities apartments in Grand Rapids and in Illinois, and Carpenter Elementary site improvements in Pittsfield Township.
