I had the pleasure of working with Jeremy a few years ago. Together, we provided excellent IT support at the University of Delaware. Jeremy goes the extra mile to ensure the client feels taken care of and the problem is resolved completely. I enjoyed collaborating with him as he taught me a lot on the technical side. We did great work, and had a great time doing it. Would recommend Jeremy for any team, he's an asset wherever he goes and is always eager to contribute, as well as listen and try new things.

Jeremy joined the Engine Room team as a Developer as his first role out of college. He displayed a great deal of curiosity and desire to learn right from the start and become better each day. Jeremy was very quick to learn the tech stack we used at Engine Room. What sets Jeremy apart is his ability to learn very quickly and accurately as well as his dependability as a coworker. If you ever needed support, or last minute work, Jeremy was quick and happy to do it. He’s an absolute professional and was a great pleasure to work with during my time at Engine Room. Any team would be lucky to have Jeremy as a Developer!

The environment and Engine Room is great. As a Cybersecurity and Technology consultant firm in the Greater Philadelphia region, Engine Room is one of the best. Prior to graduating from the University of Delaware, having been exposed to the corporate world in previous employment opportunities, I resolved to find something outside of that. That's where I found Engine Room. We do corporate work, with corporate professionalism, with none of the bureaucratic monolithic mandates and restrictive company culture that corporations tend to have. To that end, we get brought in to look at their digital "engines" and fix them up, hence the name. Show less

I loved my time at DAR. Starting off, the responsibilities were simple. Ticket in, ticket out. Due to my time at Staples, I was familiar with most repair and troubleshooting procedures going into this position. Because of this, my supervisor, Michael Li, gave me a greater degree of autonomy in handling desktop support requests. In addition, Mike was not just a boss, but a leader. He encouraged me to pursue professional avenues that I would have otherwise missed and because of this, instilled within me a greater sense of confidence when approaching business.A few months before it was time to move on from DAR, Mike found a great opportunity for employment elsewhere. My new supervisor, Paul Williams, was just as great as my previous manager had been. Paul works as a Systems Administrator at DAR. Working directly under Paul exposed me to the underlying work that goes in Systems Administration. This exposure influenced me to expand the breadth of my technical knowledge.Responsibilities include:- Managing group policy- Creating system images, imaging machines using Microsoft Deployment Toolkit- Troubleshooting programs such as "SnagIt" and "Outlook"- Training New Hires in department procedures Show less

Software Developer Intern

Dec 2018 - Jan 2019
Being an intern at Engine Room was a great experience. I had the opportunity to learn highly competitive skills in custom application development, mobile application development, and CMS implementation. Engine Room was my first experience at an application and website development servicing firm. Although the company is corporate adjacent, company culture is thankfully anything but. Having the opportunity to work with a small tight-knit team cemented my career decision to pursue work in the private sector. Show less

Working at Staples was an incredibly enriching opportunity. Having the opportunity to work retail and interact with individuals from all walks of life helped make me the person I am today. Prior to Staples, I tended to be more reserved when talking to people I did not know and knowing what to say in any particular conversation was somewhat tricky. It took me a while to become adjusted, but over time, my conversational skills developed. Due to that, I have been able to take advantage of many opportunities (career-related or otherwise) in my life. Additionally. my time at Staples also gave me the ability to sell. In most retail locations, up-selling is an industry standard and convincing someone that they need to buy more is rarely easy. Most people are cautious about more spending and it is imperative for someone in sales to demonstrate the value of the purchase. After my time here, I was able to fully grasp this concept as well as several others and due to this, I have been able to integrate this skill into my day-to-day routine. Finally, as an EasyTech associate, communication is vitally important. Since we assist in PC repairs yet are part time, rarely is one repair completed by the same associate. For this reason, documentation of all work done, as well as all communication done with the customer is important to keep track of. It is also important to follow the chain-of-command. PC repairs can be risky and as such, it is important to gain clearance from a supervisor for certain actions. Some other skills I learned are, but not limited to: -Having an in-depth knowledge of inventory management -Giving excellent customer service and meeting the customers needs. -Providing the customer with a complete solution. -Extensive knowledge of technology office supplies as it relates to an office environment.
