Based upon North Carolina Standards, developed and taught middle school math curriculum such that 7th and 8th grade students could be successful during state mandated testing and as math students in coming years. Students achieved a 73% proficiency rate in the first year, an over 20% increase from the previous from the previous testing proficiency. Students achieved an 86% proficiency rate in the second year, a 13% increase for the eighth grade from the previous year.
