At FedEx Truckload Brokerage my job is to search out, build a relationship and grow business with customers in various industries. I have generated over $15 million in revenue over the past 5 years and have some of the best customers in the world who look to me for solutions to their transportation problems or find ways to streamline their operations to save them time and money. You can look at the amount of money I have billed my customers over the years as my achievement, but I would rather focus on and I am more proud of the amount of money I have saved my customers over the years, and the promotions and awards my help has yielded the many transportation managers and the "do it all" personnel I have consulted. At Zones I started a new challenge in my career and sold computer hardware and software to customers in the small to medium size market from all types of industries. Zones is a premier re-seller of some of the best IT products on the market and what stood us apart was the amount of technical knowledge we were taught even before we stood on the sales floor calling customers. I learned the computer from its most basic parts all the way up to virtualization and storage solutions. This knowledge armed me for the ability to communicate with the most technical IT manager or systems administrator and provide recommendations to them of what products I thought was best for their needs and budget. In the reselling business pricing is relative, but its the ability to consult the customer and provide them "free" expert advice from onsite experts meant that they would continue to call Zones when the needed a new laptop or a new SAN. DAL decided to open a brokerage "brick and mortar" office in the Seattle/Tacoma market. I was hired to establish the branch, start up operations and bring in revenue. I was responsible for all branch operations from P&L, hiring and firing of employees, and building a customer base and meeting established goals. At the height of operations the branch was bringing in $2 million in revenue for the year and after a couple years was decided to close the branch along with a few other west coast offices for corporate business reasons. Received a letter of recommendation for my service. Show less

This was the beginning of my Freight Brokerage career. I learned the basics of being a freight broker from soliciting customers and qualifying partner carriers to handle the booked shipments. Also responsible for "cradle to grave" of the shipments from dispatching the carriers, scheduling the appointments and all tracing activities. This was the beginning of my Freight Brokerage career.
