      Jeremy Myerson co-founded the Helen Hamlyn Centre for Design at the RCA with Roger Coleman in 1999 and directed the centre for 16 years until his decision to stand down in September 2015. The centre's core focus is on inclusive design to improve people’s lives – it is today the College’s largest and longest running centre for design research. As well as acting as Co-Director of the Helen Hamlyn Centre for Design, and then as sole Director from 2006, Jeremy Myerson also held other important roles within the RCA.Between 2004 and 2009, he was the first-ever Director of InnovationRCA, which was formed in order to bring about a step-change in the way the College manages its commercialisation activities. Then, in 2007, he was project lead for the RCA in establishing Design London, a joint venture with Imperial College London with the aim of combining scientific, engineering, business and design expertise to enhance innovation. In 2013, Jeremy Myerson played a prominent role in setting up a pioneering new healthcare design innovation centre based at St Mary’s Hospital in Paddington, called the HELIX Centre. He also served on the RCA's Senior Management Team from 2004 to 2015. Dr Paul Thompson, RCA Rector, said: “Jeremy Myerson's research into inclusive design and the future of the workplace is acknowledged as world leading. While I am sorry to see him stand down from the directorship of the Centre, I delighted that he will continue working at the Helen Hamlyn Centre for Design as a research professor.”
