Boot camp at Parris Island, MOS training at Defense Mapping School (Fort Belvoir, VA) including Cartography, Terrain Analysis, and Geodetic Surveying. Was attached to Intel platoon at Camp Lejeune NC for remainder of enlistment. Supervised platoon of Marines in the development of mission-critical maps and overlays. Role included training of new troops in ERDAS and ESRI softwares. Also programmed in AML. Downloaded and utilized federal imagery and vector datasets for enlargements, combined obstacle overlays, line of sight, landing zone section etc. Worked on field survey crew utilizing conventional and GPS technologies. Completed computations and CADD edits on surveyed data.
