Appalachia Narcotics Investigations is a multi-agency narcotics task force whose goal is to investigate mid and upper-level drug dealers. We partner with local, state, and federal agencies to ensure our investigations lead to the arrest and prosecution of drug dealers and drug suppliers of eastern Kentucky. We also conform to the Office of National Drug Control Policy to ensure our federal guidelines of co-location and deconfliction are met. Our task force is well-versed in the most up-to-date investigative techniques and state-of-the-art technologies. ANI also has a criminal interdiction branch that has seized over one million dollars from alleged drug dealers and other criminal syndicates. My responsibilities include utilizing many Microsoft platforms to maintain statistics, reviewing overtime and casework, and communicating with police agencies. Additionally, it is my responsibility to motivate several Detectives in order to meet the goals and expectations of the Kentucky State Police and Appalachia HIDTA.

I have been a Sergeant with the Kentucky State Police since 2009. My primary duty is to ensure the safety of the Troopers and Detectives under my care. While working at a Kentucky State Police Post my most frequent responsibilities were unit inspections, equipment inspections, case reviews, evidence reviews and scheduling. I was certified as a TASER Instructor, Riot Squad Commander and Field Training Officer Coordinator. After leaving Post I was assigned to our Drug Enforcement - Special Investigations Branch. Additional responsibilities were to ensure communication between local, state and federal agencies and state and federal prosecution. I made sure my Detectives and I had the most up-to-date training to make sure our cases were the model of thoroughness and professionalism.Since 2014 I have been a certified Law Enforcement Instructor through the Kentucky Law Enforcement Council. I have taught classes on Taser Instruction, Search Warrants, Operational Planning, Meth Lab Investigation, Case Management, Scheduling and Criminal Investigations.
