I have been blessed to join the great group of good men and women at SEDALCO. I have always held a great deal of respect for SEDALCO as a competitor in the past as they have a great reputation in the industry. I am grateful for the opportunity to work with a great team with a high standard of ethics and I look forward to being another positive influence on the team! My responsibilities in Preconstruction will continue to allow me to work with the great architects, engineers and subcontractors in DFW and throughout Texas. Building fruitful relationships has always been a passion for me and something I enjoy doing. I am always here to help anyone with a need.

I was responsible for leading most of the North Texas bid opportunities. It was a great opportunity to work on several large projects with a significant amount of success.

      • Nov 2007 - Apr 2012

I led the Pre-Construction team and sought after new opportunities to pursue. I was responsible for the quality level of each budget and proposal that we submitted. I led the effort to maintain a clean database with current information as well as facilitate the execution and implementation of a Policies & Procedures Program to help ensure a level of consistency between each estimator. I loved the opportunity to led my team which I was lucky enough to be able to build from the ground up. One of the most overlooked aspects of pre-construction is the networking and relationship building with all internal and external clients. I took pride in bringing in a great group of men and women who understood the importance of building trusting relationships with Owners, Architects, Engineers & Subcontractors. We also instilled the understanding that the best thing that we could offer our internal clients, the operations team, was to provide accurate budgets and bid proposals that included a complete scope of work without leaving scope gaps that would make it harder for our operations team to be successful. In short, my job was to be the leader of a group of people who were facilitators and peacekeepers to every client outside the company and within the company.

I was responsible for each project that I worked on starting at the time of project conception and parameter budgeting up to bidding the final Construction Document and then through the buyout phase of purchasing the contracts for the project. I also mentored our younger estimators to help them grow in confidence, capability, understanding and to make sure that they understood that the role of a great pre-construction person is to be a steward of the needs, vision and the budget of their client. Any pre-construction professional who desires to excel in their career has to keep stewardship at the forefront of their mind.
