    • Contract Manager
      • Apr 2021 - Oct 2021

In addition to continuing my articles in the competition department at ENSafrica, I was also seconded by my firm to work for the Solidarity Response Fund NPC, a non-profit organisation set-up to assist South Africans struggling as a result of the Covid-19 pandemic. My time at the Solidarity Fund formed part of ENSafrica's response to the Covid-19 pandemic, as all work for the Fund was done on a pro-bono basis. During my time at the Solidarity Fund, I was responsible for drafting, reviewing, editing, and advising on a wide variety of commercial contracts in the furtherance of the Fund's mandate to provide disaster relief. Some of these contracts included the procurement and transport of Covid vaccines from overseas, the setting up of vaccination sites and the hiring of medical personnel, various media campaign and software contracts, volunteer contracts, and humanitarian relief contracts for the provision of emergency food parcels and chronic medication to the most vulnerable. My time at the Fund trained me in commercial drafting, contract management, time management (with many contracts needing to be completed on an urgent basis), and a wide variety of other skills. It was a rewarding opportunity to be able to play some small part for my country in its response to the global pandemic.
