      Responsible for the growth and implementation of a volunteer based STEM enrichment program operating in 5 public and charter middle schools in Philadelphia. iPraxis recruits STEM content experts from universities and businesses and deploys them in middle schools as mentors, presenters, science fair judges. The goal is to introduce students to real world science using the scientific method and project based learning strategies. In 2013-14, iPraxis assisted over 450 students with science fair projects, judge almost 1,000 science fair projects, and engaged students in a host of workshops, field trips, and competitions. Collaborators include: University of Pennsylvania Bioengineering Department, CHOP, Cancer Treatment Centers of America, ASTM, Inc, FlowMetric, Thermo Fisher, JaySocial, Temple and Drexel University. Recruitment of STEM volunteers is a year round effort. Our model is similar to Habitat for Humanities - a small staff with the bulk of the services provided by dedicated and skill volunteers.
