Jeremiah was on my team as both Senior and Staff Frontend Engineer capacities at Simple for three years. During that time, he led multiple cross-functional projects that have impacted our customers' ability to budget, save, and move money with Simple, while owning the Simple's frontend practice. He writes a mean API spec, and is adept at working with members of other platform groups to achieve goals. Aside from that, he's one of the most effective engineers I have had the pleasure of working with, producing high quality code at lightning speed. In short, he would make an amazing addition to any team.

Jeremiah was my mentor for 5 years at Simple. From the get go, Jeremiah was willing to take me under his wings even though we had just both started at the company and didn’t know each other very well. Throughout the years Jeremiah never failed to be there for me, whether it required pairing, talking through product decisions, design patterns, or answering what seemed the silliest of questions. Jeremiah taught me so much of what I know today, with incredible kindness and patience. What I think makes Jeremiah an exceptional programmer is not just his wizard-like programming skills/knowledge, but his understanding and regard for other human beings, whether it be customers or teammates. I am grateful to have had the opportunity to work with Jeremiah, I hope we’ll get a chance to work with each other again!

Jun 2021 - Present
Was lead on the team for the company's core product, cash advances, and launched 2.0 version on mobile. Was instrumental in keeping team agile, breaking down MVP, then went through multiple updates to the product based on data analysis - adjusting UI, flow order, and fee structure to bring the new product inline to our legacy conversion and churn rates. Guided complex launch of multiple A/B tests in Amplitude to new users before converting to all new users on the new product, and beginning slow rollout to existing users. Helped orchestrate multiple teams including those integrating our financial partners, data analysis model, and backend teams. Released updates to our app on Google Play store and Apple store, supporting QA regression testing, and monitoring app rollouts for crashes. Developed method to automate logging in test users, speeding up both manual and automated testing by 30%. Updated our staging user creation tools to quickly build out a user in the right states for testing, including edge or error cases. Championed improved simulation of testing scenarios into our process rather than an afterthought. Show less

Lead company web development division overseeing both the marketing website and music streaming webapp. Used agile methodology to ship quality software on time and meet multiple product owner goals.Music streaming web application was built in Ember.js framework and Node and allowed users to play and discover music from their browser. I directly lead this Seattle based team, acting as both development manager and lead developer. Built as a fully client side web application using ajax to directly hit apis, allowing UI to be dynamic and render quickly. Used advanced CSS3 concepts for layout such as flexbox and CSS animations. Full test coverage using qUnit and PhantomJS.Marketing website served North and South America as well as Europe. Built using a Ruby on Rails stack. Full test coverage built on Cucumber and Capybara. Deployed to multiple servers using Capistrano behind Akamai. Had extra challenge of the site having to serve the needs of multiple brands, three global marketing teams, and multiple partner requirements. I oversaw a distributed team based in the US and Europe.
