I transferred to the Gaylord Rockies to open my second Gaylord Resort property within the Marriott family of hotels. Although opening this 1,501 room hotel came with a whole different set of challenges, it was great to open the hotel in a different position than the previous property. With new challenges came new experiences.

Since the initial opening of the hotel, I have been through a complete room renovation and tower addition to 1,814 rooms with now almost 500,000 square feet of meeting space.

Responsible for the daily operations of the Gaylord Texan Security and Safety department, overseeing the safety and wellbeing of a 1,511 room property and 400,000 square feet of Convention Center meeting space. My main resposibilty are overseeing all Convention Security for the property, but also include the managing and overseeing a security staff of appox. 75 Officer and EMTs. I am also directly responsible for the inspection, maintenance and operation of all Bosch BVMS surveillance equipment, which include over 850 cameras and 6 monitoring locations around the property. With my daily duties, I also instruct personnel on departmental computer systems and electronic operations, which includes most departmentally used computer programs and applications. Show less
