I am the Director of Fine Arts overseeing all of the fine arts programs for American Leadership Academy's Queen Creek High School. Duties include, but are not limited to: Observe teachers in the assigned content areas and provide feedback. Based on observation, utilize coaching strategies as necessary. Meet with parents and staff members as needed. Support the Campus director and teachers in areas outside of academics as needed such as: student discipline, traffic duty, etc. Oversee the completion of lesson plans, grades, meeting minutes and agendas, newsletters, etc. Assist the Campus Director in the creation of the agenda’s for all staff meetings and provide training as needed. Assist in the hiring of all paraprofessionals and teachers. Attend and lead summer training sessions. Maintain department budgets. Coordinates with Campus Director and District to develop strategic plans and goals for Fine Arts programs. Guides students to choose courses consistent with his/her interests, abilities and career plans in the Fine Arts. Assists in planning and/or promotion of programs which enhance the Fine Arts department (Art Shows, Theatrical Performances, Band/Orchestra/Choir Concerts, Ballroom & Dance Showcases, etc.). Ensures that students are aware of requirements for graduation with the Arizona Arts Seal and requirements for letting in the Fine Arts as well. Show less
