Ensuring all ICTY/MICT Personnel has received the required security clearance and Security briefing upon arrival in the field area. Planning for various contingencies and take proactive measures within resources mitigating risk to staff, and VIPs, in accordance with ICTY/MICT and UN procedures.Maintaining and, where appropriate, developing liaison with other essential security bodies such as DO, SMT, local police and security agencies, other UN agencies, NATO etc.During this Close protection course I was recommended, by the Police Academy to perform CPTL duties which I performed during my service with the UN-ICTY. During these missions I have also managed to re-organize, guiding and supporting the Host Country close protection services on behalf of the ICTY.       The Marine Corps has four tasks: National Tasks, Kingdom Tasks, NATO Tasks and international Peace and Security Tasks. With regards to national tasks, these provide different forms of military assistance, both in the Netherlands and in the Dutch-Antilles. For these islands is that the Marine Corps (part of the Royal Navy) is also engaged in the defence thereof. The third task are the NATO duties. For this, the Marine Corps units supplies to NATO. NATO has among others, the United Kingdom/Netherlands Amphibious Force (UK/NL-AF) at his disposal, a partnership between the British and Dutch marines. The core of the Dutch contribution to it, all together about a thousand men, consisting of the 1st Marine Battalion. A second Battalion is available for the High Readiness Initial Entry Forces of NATO. For some time the Marine Corps also participates in the Multinational Amphibious Task Force (MNATF), a rapidly deployable amphibious force for the South Flank of the NATO treaty area. Continue doing it together with Italian, French and British colleagues to the European Amphibious Initiative. NATO tasks is not only the amphibious specialization forward but also the knowledge and experience in the field of operations in mountainous terrain, sometimes under arctic conditions. Especially enable the Marine Corps to take this knowledge and experience level training facilities in northern Norway. Units of the Marine Corps go annually to mountainous regions such as Norway and Sweden to perform under extreme weather and terrain conditions. The fourth and final task is to contribute to the maintenance of international peace and security. As part of this task, the Marine Corps has within a week a battalion deployed for UN operations.
