I worked at my local solicitors during the university summer holidays and also between travelling during my gap year. This has given me front of house experience as well as a familiarity with law relating to wills, probate, family matters and conveyancing. My roles included making appointments, opening, closing and organising files, general correspondence and I am also able to draft Wills. Jul 2021 - Jul 2021
I worked as a student researcher for a project called ‘Boost my support networks app. Enhancing student support provision in higher education’. This project is funded by the ESRC Impact Acceleration Fund and led by Dr Rille Raaper (Associate Professor/Deputy Director of Research, School of Education) and Prof Chris Brown (Professor/Deputy Executive Dean (Research) Faculty of Social Sciences and Health). The project aimed to investigate and develop undergraduate student support networks for academic and wellbeing purposes. As part of this project I undertook the following tasks: • Market research on existing student support apps, resulting in a comprehensive overview of available apps and their key features. • Initial literature search on student support in higher education, resulting in a reference list on relevant sources. • Pilot interviews with two students to capture their views on student support apps.
