  • Lead external audits to meet all quality and customer standards, including BRC, Organic etc. • Be involved in a range of projects to ensure Quality and Food Safety are designed, from the beginning, into everything we do. • Work closely with the Production Team to ensure quality and food safety parameters are met through training and key stake holder interaction. • Identify and then coordinate the investigating into quality variations and non-conformances to establish root cause then engage with stakeholders to develop and implement preventative measures. • Work with the Quality team on continual improve of our site Quality Culture. • Review Product Information Forms (PIF) as part of the raw material approval process to ensure raw material complies with Australian Food Standards and various customer standards. • Approve new suppliers prior to the commencement of supply including non-produce ingredients, packaging, transport, consumables, and other services. • Carry out risk assessment on new raw material from new or existing suppliers. • Maintain Approved Supplier List, Approve Raw Material Technical Database and Packaging Register. • Review the final proof label artwork to ensure label artwork complies with GS1 labelling standard. • Manage and maintain training schedule for production process workers on quality and food safety compliance. • Provide GMP and HACCP training to new production staff • Coordinate and carry out internal audits, recommending areas of improvement to any non-conformance raised. • Investigate customer complaints and implement preventative and corrective actions to eliminate or reduce its re-occurrence. Working in an abattoir is a life changing experience and the best place to learn. Made my way up to the position of QA manager from slaughter floor labourer.
