For any error that… Show more This desk assists the Complaints Unit in all their incoming cases, which include warrant request, out of custody with a court date and in-custody cases. The procedures are to log the cases for the attorneys to review, generate the charging complaint after it has been issued and proofread the complaint for any wrong charges, allegations, priors, speeling and punctuations. Lastly, we need to assist the law enforcement agencies to e-file the charging complaint to the courthouse. For any error that returns, we need to either fix in our Ciberlaw and regenerate the complaint, or we need to correct using Adobe Acrobat. When the leads are not available, I assist in taking calls from law enforcement agencies, court, and attorneys. I also assist the leads in logging the in-custody cases onto our clipboard, checking their custody status in CJIC, and distribute the cases to the team. The team members are always welcome to ask me any questions when the leads are occupied. In addition to assisting with the cases, my desk is solely responsible for coordinating with court for the weekly Information Arraignment complaint. Each week I need to check CJIC for the Master and Working Calendar and contact the CJIC coordinator at court to determine the Information Arraignment complaints that are due, then contact the attorney to inform them to update any charges they need so I can generate the complaint to file at court no later than Wednesday afternoon. This desk will soon pick up Diversion cases as well, where I will be contacting different agencies and updating the defendants information in regards to if the program was completed or not.

Sort the out-of-custody cases and put them in their designated area. From time to time, I will assist officers with their questions and direct them to someone that can better assist them if I am not able to provide an answer. Answer the Leads' telephone and assist mainly court calls, law enforcement agencies, and assist other units that we have cases together with. When the leads are out, I will help with staffs that have any questions in their tasks as in issues with typing a charging complaint or questions in regard to a case that may need to be routed to a different unit and any other issues that comes up. As necessary, I assist the citation desk in returning the cases to agencies for amendment and checking the charges entered matches the cites before sending the citations to the proper unit for scanning. Once a week I empty the rejected cases draw and enter the rejected code to CJIC.
