Depaul supports people who are homeless or at risk of homelessness. Our services, across NI and ROI, offer accommodation and community services. We specialise in Low Threshold and Harm Reduction practices to enable the most vulnerable to access support. Many of our services users suffer from physical and mental health issues and alcohol and substance misuse. As Volunteer Co-ordinator, I recruit, train and manage volunteers for Depaul (Northern Ireland). This includes part-time, full-time local and over seas volunteers and students / work placements. I have had many years experience working within Youth in Action and Erasmus +. This includes EVS and over-seas students and adult learners (Leonardo, Erasmus and Gruntvig). I manage all grants in relation to Erasmus+ along with all logistical and support aspects of the programme. I was a qualified MAPA instructor (Managing Actual and Potential Aggression) and train both staff and full-time volunteers in Depaul services in this qualified course in verbal de-escalation and physical disengagement techniques. I train and support students for their placements and assess 3rd year Queens Medical SSC community placements. I have a TAQA Level 3 Assessor Qualification. I have been an Emerging Leaders Trainer. This is a Depaul bespoke Leadership and Management course for staff at Project Worker level wishing to gain skills to enable them to apply for management positions. I worked cross-border to achieve the Investing in Volunteers Quality standard in 2015 and successfully renewed it in 2018. Show less
