National Development Manager

Jul 2015 - Feb 2016
Starting in a newly created post, I took great pride in establishing a development and retainment strategy for Scotland’s largest rural youth organisation. Previous leadership training brought a unique perspective to the development of current and new Young Farmers’ clubs across Lanarkshire, Ayrshire, Stirlingshire and Central Scotland. Working closely with media and sponsors, support was created for clubs across the West of Scotland through my work. I acted as an advisor to clubs on various management topics such as Treasurer’s Financial Budgeting and Bookeeping, Secretary’s Minute Taking and Organisation as well as Chairman’s Leadership and Public Speaking. Duties:• Establishing a new Business Development Strategy. • Providing managerial and financial support and guidance to over 85 Young Farmers’ Clubs across Scotland.• Raising the Association’s profile through increased Public Relations.• Training volunteers and colleagues on various subjects including Social Media Use, Risk Assessments of Club Activities and Running Committee Meetings. Regional Events Manager
-
Mar 2012 - Jul 2015
During my time as Regional Events Manager at SAYFC, I planned and implemented profile-raising events throughout the West Region of Scotland. I continually developed my skills through a variety of responsibilities in Direct team leadership, Public speaking, Networking, Event planning and Secretarial work. I built positive relationships with stakeholders, members and colleagues at all levels within the organisation to ensure effective delivery of Regional and National events, Training, Campaigns and Initiatives. Duties:• Proactively liaised between staff and stakeholders on different aspects of Young Farmers’ membership, to produce an ever-growing active membership. • I participated in proposals and managed relationships with sponsors and stakeholders plus collating, preparing and providing comprehensive management information to the Regional Committee. I acted as an advisor informing committees on activity aspects such as Finance, Marketing, Sponsorship, Public relations, etc. As well as this, I evaluated each activity or event and was able to provide reports to necessary stakeholders at all times. Already strong communication skills were heightened by developing, implementing and managing regular successful events for up to 2000 people across Scotland Show less
