At Woodsy Studio, I develop interactive media with a focus on dramatic storytelling and entertainment. As the Founder and Co-Owner, I supervise the art direction of our projects and share all other tasks with my partner or hired team-members. ART: I am responsible for most of the 2D art in our games, including character designs, CG illustrations, and user interface. When possible, I hire other artists to collaborate with me on some designs. PROGRAMMING: I have programmed the majority of our games using various engines: Ren'Py (Python), GameMaker (GML), and Unreal Engine 4 (Blueprints). I developed a Visual Novel Framework for UE4 that is now sold on the UE4 Marketplace. WRITING: For all of our projects I have either written the branching narratives or co-written the script with a partner. The stories always include multiple branches to account for player choices. Games released so far include: - Serafina's Saga (PC, Mac, Linux, Android, iOS) - Quantum Conscience (PC, Mac, Linux, Android) - Serafina's Crown (PC, Mac, Linux, Android) - Echoes of the Fey: The Fox's Trail (PC, PS4, Xbox One) - Echoes of the Fey: The Immolation (PC) - miraclr - Diving Dating Sim (Android, iOS) Show less

As Jayden Woods I have published 7 full length novels and a variety of supplemental short stories and novellas. My debut novel, a 420 page historical fiction novel called "Eadric the Grasper," was acclaimed by Kirkus Discoveries as one of the best 10 indie books of 2010. I completed writing the Sons of Mercia trilogy in 2 years, then went on to write the Broken Balance fantasy series. In addition to creative writing, my work as Jayden Woods required me to engage in social media, build a website, and collaborate with artists and editors. I hired an artist for cover concept illustrations for the Sons of Mercia trilogy, reviewing, critiquing, and approving the final artwork within a 2-4 month time-frame. I independently and aggressively marketed my books using Facebook, Google AdWords, Twitter, and Wordpress. I effectively used Dreamweaver to design my website from a basic template. Show less

At NVIDIA I play-tested games with the goal of rooting out bugs and optimizing performance. I would run games on a variety of GPUs and capture detailed reports of the computer hardware, drivers, and game-play experience. I logged detailed reports to communicate my findings to developers and artists. At NVIDIA I play-tested games with the goal of rooting out bugs and optimizing performance. I created three holiday card videos using a template in After Effects. I integrated photos of employee faces into the template using masks and animated 3D layers. I selected music for the cards and edited the length of the song to fit each card. I changed the camera movement and timing of cuts to match the number of employees in each video. Through a day-long workshop entitled “Create, Publish, and Distribute eBooks with Smashwords,” I taught students the technical and practical guidelines needed to self-publish their manuscripts (one workshop in January, a second in June). I shared my experience of 4+ years in the self-publishing industry and some of the lessons that have come with it. I provided PowerPoint slides to accompany my lectures and guided students through exercises utilizing a practice manuscript.
