Jenni is creative and authentic in all that she does - she is great at distilling complex ideas into their essential parts and then using findings to create and commission useful outputs and practical actions informed by those findings. She was instrumental in creating and driving the New Operating Models work programme from its inception to delivery at Nesta. I enjoyed the thoughtful and creative challenges that she brings to a team to help the whole team achieve its best work. She is an experienced system designer, facilitator and lead of collaborative teams; and is someone who really cares about the purpose and outcomes of shared work.

Colab was asked to design and facilitate a workshop programme that would explore and co-create solutions to improve staff engagement at a University. We asked Jenni to be a part of this project due to her brilliant reputation in creative collaboration and change management. Throughout the process, Jenni was insightful, honest, positively challenging and well organised. She created a solutions-focussed approach that got to the heart of the issue, whilst adding value through the creative design of the workshops that delivered a memorable experience for all. I gained a lot from working with Jenni and particularly appreciated her openness and the way in which she provided opportunities for learning. I would love to collaborate with Jenni again and definitely recommend her work.

Lighthouse is an arts and culture agency that connects new developments in art, technology and society. We produce commissions, exhibitions, events and education schemes that support radical new contemporary art, digital culture, music, film and much more. For over 30 years, the Lighthouse programme has revealed new ways of presenting artists and the creative industries, how artistic work and practice can cross boundaries and disciplines, and be used as a way of enhancing digital technology and its place within society. Key projects include Guiding Lights, the UK’s leading mentoring scheme for filmmakers, regular residencies that provide creative and professional development for a wide range of artists and creative practitioners, and Last Dance, a series of events, podcasts, films and blogs investigating the rapid changes affecting UK music and youth culture. Nesta is the UK’s Innovation Foundation. My role was to design, develop and manage government innovation programmes that explored how citizens' needs can be better met through the state, market and community ecosystem. Achievements: • Designed & stewarded the Upstream Collaborative, a learning network of 20 pioneering local authorities and their partners; supported them to form action learning sets around topics of common interest; • Co-produced the New Operating Models Handbook, a set of six learning products informed by the experience of the Upstream Collaborative; • Used creative thinking & playfulness to develop Flourish!, a board game that acts as a tool for learning about community wealth building & new place-based economic models; • Engaged with leaders from local government & civil society to develop ShareTown, an exploration of a positive future for public service delivery; • Produced ‘Platform co-operatives - solving the capital conundrum’ a report, jointly published with Cooperatives UK, that looked at what platform cooperatives are, why we need them, and what is needed for them to grow and flourish in the future; • Led ShareLab, providing grant funding and business support to 19 early stage social enterprises using digital platforms to address social needs including homelessness, transport poverty and social care. I played an active role in developing Nesta's learning culture - designing and leading the GrantMakers Community of Practice and organising a programme of learning events to help programme makers develop their craft. Between February 2018 and Dec 2019 I was one of eight employee representatives on the new Employee Forum, helping define and establish the Forum's role and working practices, tackling workplace issues and exploring how Nesta can be an even better place to work. I developed the original idea for Meaning, NixonMcInnes’ flagship event in 2011. I then acted as Creative Director until 2015 when I curated and hosted that year's conference. I have now moved on from this role. Meaning is an annual gathering for people who believe business can and must be better in the 21st century. Our goal has been to inspire our community with stories, empower them with self-belief, arm them with practicalities and blow their minds with ideas. We want to learn from pioneers and build connections with like-minded peers so we can go out and change the world. Since we started the conference in 2012 we've been lucky enough to attract some brilliant, high-profile speakers, including UK Green MP Caroline Lucas, radical economist Umair Haque, leader of the Swedish Pirate Party Rick Falkvinge, Danish happiness expert Alexander Kjerulf, American social technologist Stowe Boyd, improv star Neil Mullarkey, representatives from the massive Spanish co-op Mondragon and innovation superstars W. L. Gore, and more. Our audience is 320 people who are a combination of business leaders, thinkers and people who care about using what is good about business to make a difference. • Strategy Director & Senior Consultant
      • May 2009 - Feb 2015

I joined NixonMcInes when it was a small web design firm working primarily with local businesses and was a key member of the team that repositioned the company as one of the first social media agencies in the UK. I lead on new business pitches, managed our biggest client relationships and lead creatively to deliver outstanding work. I stepped up to the management team as a director and helped the company to grow into an award-winning consultancy with a strong reputation amongst peers and clients, famed for its democratic working practices. In that time we repositioned and upskilled the whole team and completely turned around our client base to focus on FTSE 350 companies. Our proposition moved from social media, to social business, through to radical transformation. With each iteration I expanded my own skillset and shepherded our consultants and clients along the journey.I took responsibility for developing our practices, then our products and services and ended my tenure as the host of the consultancy team - ensuring they had everything they needed to do the work of their lives. In December 2014 we radically transformed our business model, changing from a centralised company with employees, to a decentralised associate and partner-based model.
