      • Mar 2020 - Present

I serve as an Ambassador to Congresswoman Eleanor Holmes Norton on behalf of the Alzheimer's Association. My role is to keep the Congresswoman and her staff apprised of new developments regarding Alzheimer's, advocate for legislation that helps further Alzheimer's research and improve care, and ensure that the needs of those suffering from dementia and their caregivers remain a priority in Congress.

    • Committee Chair for The Longest Day
      • Aug 2020 - Present

Second year as Committee Chair for the National Capital Area Chapter of The Longest Day. My role is to both support my staff partner at the Alzheimer's Association, as well as support all Subcommittee Chairs and volunteers in whatever capacity they need in order to have a successful fundraising season.

As Memory Care Coordinator it was my privilege to meaningfully engage residents who had dementia by leading group activities and directing community art projects to promote feelings of pride and accomplishment. I connected to each resident and their family members on a personal level, and leaving them when I moved out of state was among the most difficult transitions I've made. At the company's genesis, I was brought on to initially assist in developing company branding and create visual and written content for their website and all forms of media and advertising. I ensured language and visual continuity and provided creative direction across all platforms. I served as Modeling Lead creating characters and environments on a wide variety of projects, including (but not limited to) commercials and ads, architectural renderings, and forensic reconstruction. The wonderful thing about working at a smaller studio is being afforded opportunities to expand my reach and skill set. Even though I specialized in modeling, I was able to try my hand at all aspects of the production pipeline--from conceptualization, to rigging, to animating, to lighting/rendering. Show less

I was brought in to create a 2-minute promotional animation to accompany their initial app launch. I love working with start-ups, and here's why: Not only are the entrepreneurs running the show an inspiration and pleasure to work with, but the job descriptions are not limiting, and they're not necessarily linear. Even though I came in to assist with animation, my role morphed to include branding development, as well. I know myself well enough to know that if I can provide input and value in multiple areas, the happier and more motivated I am. Show less

I soaked up so much value from these few months, it's crazy. As an art major I wanted to expand my reach a bit, so I took a gamble on marketing. And BOY am I glad I did. I learned how to think from different perspectives, get in the customer's head, develop and implement strategies, and interface with clients. It was also my first real-world experience with truly effective team collaboration, which was incredibly valuable not only for the company and the client(s), but for me personally, as it reinforced that I'm most effective and energized in a collaborative environment.
