Built a psychological profile of Syrian President Bashar al-Assad in three parts: • Assad's Route to Leadership: Examined family and events leading up to his presidency• Speech Analysis (PP+ software): Compiled and prepared the text of verbatim interviews and speeches, and ran through Profiler Plus software. Conclusions indicated where Assad fell in relation to seven key metrics (in-group bias, need for power, distrust of others, etc) • Decision Analysis: Analyzed Assad's decision to crack down on protesters in Dara'a, the subsequent actions of which escalated into the Syrian Civil War. • Result: A profile of Bashar al-Assad and analysis on his decision-making to contribute to a database on world leaders
