I founded a leading beauty & wellness e-commerce platform less because I knew anything about beauty but more because I loved the products as a paying customer and it actually really worked. Hence, I brought the brand and products to Singapore. Luxe Beauty provides clinically proven supplements for youthful skin, body and weight management products for busy women. Luxe Beauty products was awarded with ● 2022 Monde Selection Quality Awards ● 2021 Asia Pacific Health & Biotechnology Awards ● 2019, 2020 Safety & Quality (SNQ) Awards I started this venture as a "one-man show" to something quite large now as I am working with a team of 39 females worldwide. Like most, I came out of accountancy school and followed the rest of the class by joining one of the "Big 4" firms. I figured I prefer tax over accounting after two internship experience. I supported the team by preparing tax returns for individuals with significant wealth and complex tax positions, reviewing individual tax returns for their employees (including CEOs and key decision-makers), developing effective tax minimization strategies, identifying tax planning opportunities to minimize tax costs and managing client relationships. From here, I found passion in working with people. Show less

Back then in secondary school, Principle of Accounts (POA) was one of the subjects offered which I found interest in... however my examination results show otherwise. My POA teacher invested time and effort to coach me when I had doubts. I made her proud by coming in first place for every end of year exams and scoring distinctions for "N" and "O" level. She inspired me to be an educator, to nurture and coach students. This was my side hustle as a student. Joined my second internship programme as a student as I was navigating the career paths and thinking of what I like to major for my Bachelor's Degree. Together I shadow members of the Accounting department as they perform their duties, assist with research, filing, data entry, and recording and maintaining accurate and complete financial records and prepare financial reports, such as balance sheets and income statements, invoices, and other documents. I loved my colleagues, the office pantry and it was a wonderful experience. Show less

This was my first internship as a student, I thought there wasn't much to do but that's not the case...back then Ask Jamie @ IRAS was not widely available yet so I handle frontline duties by advising taxpayers with complicated tax matters via walk in appointments and phone. During my internship I prepare tax computations and tax returns for individuals, provide taxpayer service and assist in clarification of tax practices, application of tax laws and assessments. What I enjoyed most were the candid conversation with the uncles and aunties who shared with me the multiple sources of income they had that contributed to their high taxes. I received a 5 star rating feedback from an uncle who simply loved the conversation we had and the assistance provided. This was an internship, so the work ended at the end of the ride. Show less
