I worked with Jennifer at Eli Lilly and Company for approximately 5 years. During that time, Jennifer and I worked on multiple projects together implementing new IT systems supporting the Regulatory business unit. Jennifer is a detailed oriented person that excels at project execution and delivery. Jennifer is an excellent leader and has the ability to take charge and lead projects and people. Jennifer gets along well with all types of individuals at all levels of the organization. Jennifer would be an asset to any organization.

I am pleased to make a recommendation for Jennifer Shivers. Jennifer and I worked together at Eli Lilly and Company for a number of years and I found her to be knowledgeable, hard-working and reliable. As an example, we were recommending a new digital signature technology be brought into Lilly which would save time and money from our cumbersome wet signature and faxing process. Jennifer lead proof of concepts to show management the advantage of the new technology and, when accepted, worked tirelessly to establish the technology service within the corporation. She has a positive attitude and I would work with her again any day!

Courses: INTRODUCTION TO SYSTEMS Systems are naturally occurring and human-created ways of organizing the world around us. Our homes, businesses and schools are systems and parts of more complex systems that make up our society. This course is an introduction to systems thinking, quality driven human-centered design processes and basic database concepts. The course focuses on understanding basic systems components through visualizations including context diagrams, cross-functional process maps and flow charts. Students also used basic human-centerd design methods to engage in analyzing and diagramming a real system of their choosing. Course activities also include field trips designed to show large systems and the effort required to create and maintain quality process. Finally, students are exposed to basic database concepts and learn how query relational databases using SQL. PRINCIPLES OF HUMAN-COMPUTER INTERACTION To be successful designers, we need to understand those we are designing WITH. This course was designed to help students understand the intersection between computer science and other disciplines such as psychology. Key texts are Don Norman's, The Design of Everyday Things and Jeff Johnson's, Designing with the Mind in Mind. Students are asked to use qualitative design research methods to research a problem using a design process based upon the process Whitney discusses, http://vimeo.com/5750600, and The Analysis-Synthesis Bridge Model, Dubberly, Evenson, and Robinson. Students move through iterative project phases to analyze and model the challenge and opportunity. In the final stages of the project, students move through iterations to prototype their designs and engage participants in providing feedback. Creative problem solving techniques such as methods for separation of divergent and convergent thinking are also presented.
