Supported the manufacturing, testing, and troubleshooting of electrical power control boxes for satellite applications. Debugged circuits through electrical schematic analysis and lead test team to perform troubleshooting steps. Conducted root cause analysis, verified test evidence of unit compliance with requirements, and presented findings to the customer. As an intern in the Communications Payload, Command, & Telemetry Department, I completed many tasks. I investigated current and future technologies for the Power, Communications, and Payload systems of a NASA JPL & Aerospace joint project, the Solar Gravity Lens (SGL), with an interdisciplinary team of engineers. I presented this research and SGL concept design study results to engineering managers and subject matter experts. For another task, I utilized Visual Basic (VBA) to add a measured Eb/No parameter and improve the user interface of the department's Link Budget Tool. Show less

In order to improve the process of circuit design for the Electrical Engineers, I researched, documented, and designed a project template in Altium 18 to utilize ActiveBOM, which allows for live component information. Rather than manually searching for current supplier information for each part in a BOM, engineers can now view this information within the design environment. I also compiled EE component information into Microsoft Access databases in order to update the Altium part library. Additionally, I worked in the EE lab and completed various tasks such as identifying components on a PCB using Altium, reprogramming wireless chargers by loading firmware from a laptop to the PCB, and soldering capacitors onto a PCB to reduce noise while testing a wireless charger to CLA system. Utilizing company resources, I created a device (S.I.D.D.) that uses induction to de-solder fiber optic feedthroughs. I worked with a team of 6 in the Manufacturing Department to design, test, and build the device. The device includes an Arduino-based LCD screen and dial for the user to alter the time the device is on and the power, as well as an Arduino with soldered protoboards for the control circuit, and an air and water cooling system. I also presented this project to other employees and wrote a technical documentation for coworkers to reference and use my device as a prototype. Show less
