Jennifer clearly has a strong interest in history and culture. I found her to be bright and engaging, with excellent communication, prioritisation and initiative skills. She takes instruction very well, works diligently, and was thorough in all tasks asked of her. Her analytical approach to a research activity I set for her particularly impressed me, and her choice of subject, construction and presentation of findings was highly compelling. I believe it also demonstrates that she holds a natural aptitude for history or museum education.

As the Collections Manager, I am responsible for the care and management of the museum’s collection, including historic objects, photographs, manuscripts, decorative arts, Ladies' Hermitage Association/Andrew Jackson Foundation institutional archive, and archaeological collection. I process new object donations and update collections records, including accessioning, cataloging, and condition reporting. I have initiated a targeted push to digitize historic documents and artifacts as well as institutional records and research to facilitate access and use. I regularly monitor environmental conditions and implement IPM procedures in collections areas. I manage registration data on all incoming and outgoing loans. I participate in institutional planning and programming. I regularly collaborate with Site Operations, Preservation, Security, Interpretation, and Education/Programming. I supervise and conduct cleaning of all historic buildings and collections areas. I create content for Social Media and Digital Marketing. Show less
