I teach seventh grade science as well as the Biotech elective, the Gateway course through Project Lead the Way (PLTW) which includes the Medical Detectives unit and the Design & Modeling unit. I aspire to inspire my students to be life-long learners! I use the NGSS standards to help students achieve a deeper level of understanding in science. In the past, I have taught International Baccalaureate (IB) Diploma Programme (DP) Environmental Systems and Societies and English Language Learners (ELL) Biology. During the 2014-2015 school year as an intern, I spent the academic year planning for and implementing science lesson and unit plans which met the current national next generation science standards (NGSS) and high school content expectations (HSCEs). I taught ninth and tenth grade biology classes as well as environmental science. I spent the summer teaching an accelerated biology course for credit recovery and a bridge program for incoming seventh and ninth graders. Show less
