  Ms. Schuster has extensive experience in patient care, both as a practitioner and as a consultant. Her expertise is concentrated in all areas of clinical nursing and administration, with specialties in inpatient nursing, emergency services, behavioral health, and healthcare financial management. She has specialized in workload measurement and analyses for all of these areas. Some of the studies and reviews she has managed and led include staffing and productivity assessments, hospital-wide benchmarking, Clinical Documentation Improvement (CDI) program assessment and development, workflow and patient throughput analyses, patient classification system development and validation, and the use of information systems applications.With AMS, Ms. Schuster has been engaged by clients to manage and perform healthcare system-wide analyses, assist with implementing recommendations, and to mentor administrators, managers, and staff on various health care management and administrative issues. On a part-time and interim basis, she has assisted many clients with developing systems and strategies specific to their needs, to ensure optimal project and management outcomes and to improve productivity. She has a solid working knowledge of computers, clinical software, and many of the popular, commercial software products. With AMS she has also been involved with Hospital Information System (HIS) selections and commercial software installations management, development, and education. Before joining AMS, Ms. Schuster worked as a Hospital In-house Systems and Productivity Consultant, a Nursing Director, Charge Nurse, Staff Nurse, and Float Nurse on various medical/surgical/step-down units, intensive care units, obstetrical units, and in emergency rooms. Ms. Schuster currently coordinates and oversees the AMS nursing practice operations, benchmarking, informatics, and interim management assignments.
